Induction Loop Measurement & Certification

A correctly installed and operational induction loop system is vital. Many surveys carried out by support organisations such as Action on Hearing Loss, report that hearing loops (often referred to as Audio Frequency Induction Loop Systems – AFILS), are frequently badly installed or maintained.

The Institue of Sound and Communications Engineers (ISCE) - the UK professional body for sound system designers, installers and consultants - has created an Assessment Scheme to offer organisations a source of competent individuals and companies who can test and assess their hearing loops for correct operation and performance.

We are approved by the Institute of Sound & Communications Engineers (ISCE) as assessors of hearing loops and are registered on the Hearing Loop Assessment Scheme. Our engineers are competent and trained in the latest techniques and practices and will install your hearing solution with a focus on attention to detail and your custom requirements. You can rest assured knowing that you will benefit from:

  Well-designed and reliable hearing loop solution

  Trustworthy measurement and certification services

  Guaranteed professionalism and integrity

  If you are considering the installation of an induction loop system, please contact us we would be more than happy to conduct a FREE site survey or click here if you would like to purchase a portable induction loop system for use in a reception area, kiosk, or desktop.

WEEE Compliance Statement

As a national seller of audio, visual and computing equipment Distributed Sound & Video has certain responsibilities under the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. Distributed Sound & Video recognises its responsibility to minimise the environmental impact caused by its activities and more specifically as a 'distributor' of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE).

We fulfil our obligations to Business customers by:

1. Guaranteeing that our suppliers are registered with the Environment Agency

‘Producers’ (manufacturers, rebranders, and importers of EEE) have an extended responsibility under the Regulations, which includes financing the pre-treatment, treatment, collection and environmentally sound disposal of the new EEE that they produce once it reaches its end-of-life. As such, we ask our suppliers for their unique producer identification number (PRN), as proof that they have joined an Approved Producer Compliance Scheme and registered with the Environment Agency.

2. Providing information to our customers

Awareness is the key to successively meeting the aims of the UK WEEE legislation; therefore we ensure that all Distributed Sound & Video customers are kept informed via information posted on this website, including: WEEE - What business end-users need to know!

3. Providing Producer details

When requested by our business customers we will happily provide contact information for the producer of the electrical or electronic item(s) that they wish to purchase.

Please note: As a ‘distributor’ under the UK WEEE Regulations we have no obligation to take-back WEEE from business users. Please refer to The UK WEEE Regulations – An Overview, which details the obligations of a ‘Producer’ and your obligations as an ‘end-user’.

We fulfil our obligations to Household consumers by:

1. Offering a Take-back service

As a ‘distributor’ under the UK WEEE Regulations we are required to offer take-back of old WEEE items on a like-for-like basis when a household customer buys an equivalent item from us, and dispose of the WEEE item safely. As such, we provide a take-back service, where household customers are able to send or return their items to us. For further information about our take-back service, please refer to WEEE – What Householders need to know!

2. Providing information to our customers

Awareness is the key to successively meeting the aims of the UK WEEE legislation; therefore we ensure that all Distributed Sound & Video household customers are informed of:

a) the requirement on each member State under Article 2 of the WEEE Directive to minimise the disposal of WEEE to landfill and to achieve a high level of collection of WEEE for treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal;
b) the collection and take back systems available;
c) their role in contributing to the reuse, recycling and recovery of WEEE;
d) potential effects on the environment and human health as a result of hazardous substances in EEE; and
e) the meaning of the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. For further information please refer to WEEE – What Householders need to know!

3. Keeping records of the WEEE we take-back

We maintain records of:
a) the number of WEEE items returned to us;
b) the date that the WEEE items were returned to us; and
c) the information provided to our customers.
